Grupo Mariposa participates in the Davos 2024 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum

Juan Pablo Mata, CEO of Grupo Mariposa, was invited as a speaker to the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, which has been held for 54 years in the city of Davos, Switzerland. Their participation in the session called: “The Alliance for an Equitable Transition”, focused on recognizing the importance of economic equity in the green transition, discussing the Framework for Economic Equity in said transition and aligning key areas and opportunities where this Alliance can generate progress.

This session included personalities such as Jennifer Morgan, secretary of state and special envoy for international climate action of Germany; Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and CEO of PETRONAS Group Malaysia; Saadia Zahidi administrative director of the World Economic Forum and Kadri Simson, energy commissioner of the European Commission.

The Davos 2024 edition had as its motto “rebuild trust”, with the aim of restoring collective agency and focusing on the fundamental principles that drive trust, transparency, coherence and accountability.

This event brings together more than 100 governments, major international organizations, civil society leaders, leading experts, young leaders, social entrepreneurs, media and 1,000 partner companies of the World Economic Forum. Among which is Grupo Mariposa, one of the first companies of Central American origin to be part of this organization and participate in the Davos Forum.
